Lloyds Metals and Energy Limited is a direct reduced iron (DRI) manufacturer and is a merchant iron ore miner in Maharashtra, India. The Company's segments include Mining, Sponge Iron, Power and Pellet trading. The Mining Segment is engaged in extraction of iron ore from mines. The Sponge Iron segment is engaged in the production and manufacturing of sponge iron. The Power segment includes generation of power. The Pellet trading segment includes pellets procured from Mandovi River Pellets Private Limited, the producer of pellets derived from iron ore supplied by the Company. The Company's other by products include char, fly ash, ESP dust, bed materials and iron ore fines. It has an approximately 3,40,000 TPA capacity for DRI across two districts in Maharashtra and a 34 megawatts (MW) waste heat recovery based (WHRB) power plant. The Company has a capacity of approximately 10 million metric tons per annum (MTPA) of iron ore at Surjagarh Village, Gadchiroli district in Maharashtra.
